This blog is about an innovative idea developed by protesters in Pakistan. the protesters carry along with Solar panels for recharging their mobiles while sitting on dharna in Islamabad, the beautiful capital of Pakistan. The protest dharna which started early in the last week of October, has now entered into its third week. In the absence of electricity supply at the open spaces in Islamabad, the protesters' have been using Solar Panel for recharging their Mobiles through devices connected with them. It is difficult these times to live without active Mobile phones.
However, internet services are not available to protesters. They allege that Islamabad Authorities have suspended the internet services to restrain protesters from communication in a big way.
Protesters of ‘Azadi March’ came well prepared for a protest that may runs longer than their leaders have thought to be. The Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) protesters came from many far off villages and cities-have brought along with them Solar Panels for energizing/charge their Mobiles. The protesters also brought with them the devices to attach to solar panels where they could attach their mobiles and charge them with ease.
According to a report in Dawn, an English national daily of Pakistan, five Mobiles could be charged at a time. more than 200 Solar Panels are under use at the protest rally, those who have not brought their Solar Panel, take on loan from other protesters. The protesters want to stay connected to their family and friends and some of them keep in touch with their business establishments in far places. Solar panels are also being used for lightening at night.
However, internet services are not available to protesters. They allege that Islamabad Authorities have suspended the internet services to restrain protesters from communication in a big way.
This is called “necessity is the mother of invention”. Sarcasm: If any protesting group copies the Pakistani Solar Panel idea and uses it in India, he may face the relevant sections of Sedition Act. Please beware I would not be responsible for that.
